Option 2: Walk In
Bring your file on a USB drive, email it to store6632@theupsstore.com, or just pull it up on your phone. We will look at it on screen, check that it is going to print clean at the size you want, and get it started while you wait or come back later.
If you are not sure your file is big enough for poster size, bring it anyway. We check the resolution before we print and will tell you upfront if something needs to change. No guessing, no wasted money.
How to Get the Best Print Quality
Most poster printing problems come down to the file, not the printer. Here is how to avoid the common mistakes:
- Use PDF format. PDF locks in your fonts, layout, and image quality. If you designed in Canva, always download as PDF Print. The standard download option compresses your images and your poster will come out soft.
- Check your resolution. Your file should be at least 150 DPI at the final print size. For a 24×36 poster, that means the image needs to be roughly 3600 x 5400 pixels. If your whole file is under 1MB, it is probably too small.
- Watch your colors. What you see on screen uses light (RGB). Printers use ink (CMYK). That neon green on your monitor might print duller than expected. If exact color matters, ask us about a test print first.
- Do not screenshot your design. A screenshot captures at screen resolution (72 DPI) which is way too low for print. Always download the actual file from whatever app you used to design it.
